A five day workshop on Leadership Training was conducted for the inmates of Auxillium Snehalaya, a shelter home at Noonmati, Guwahati by the members of Dreams+Teams International Project from 09-13 July’2010.The Mini-fest was chaired by Mrs. Juri Sharma Bordoloi, a prominent social activist and some prominent dignitaries who were present-Father Lukase, Sister Alma along with Mrs.Anjana Hazarika,Principal, K.V.Khanapara.

Workshop on CCE and Academic Planning

A workshop on CCE and Academic
Planning 2010 was held in Kendriya Vidyalaya
Khanapara Guwahati on 16-17 April 2010 for
PGT(Hindi),19th April 2010 for TGT(Sanskrit) and
on 22nd April'2010 for PET & Yoga. Mrs. Anjana
Hazarika, Principal, KVK explained about
Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation to all the
candidates. Mr. Jagvir Singh, TGT(SSt), KVK also
took a session to explain the preparation of
Report Book & Report Card according to CCE
in the workshop.
Annual Day Celebration-2010
44th Annual Day was celebrated on
09th April 2010. Hon'ble Chief Guest of the occasion was Shri
Prateek Hajela Deputy Commissioner Kamrup(Metro). Chief guest was welcomed by Mrs. Anjana Hazarika,
Principal KV Khanapara, by Gamocha. Function started by the speech of the
Principal,K.V.Khanapara. In her speech she laid stress on enhancing activities in the Vidyalaya of the year 2009-10. He emphasized academic excellent result of the year. Prize distribution was also done by Hon'ble Assistant Commissioner, K.V.S, Guwahati Region, Shri A. K. Vajpayee to the achievers in various activities. On this occasion very interesting and exciting cultural program are done by the students participants of KVK.

Day Celebration-2010

was celebrated

on 26th January 2010 at K.V.Khanapara. Chief Guest

VIDEO CONFERENCE
Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT organized Orientation Programmes for Teachers
of Mathematics through Video
Conferencing on 3-5 March'2010.
KV Khanapara,Ghy-22 (Assam) was one of the venue centers. Teacher participants were from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Participants asked so many queries related to the above mentioned
topic. CIET, NCERT New Delhi was the Teaching End and KV Khanapara was the classroom End.
KVS FOUNDATION DAY
KVS foundation day was celebrated with great favor on 15th Dec’09 at the premises of KV Khanapara to mark the 45th Anniversary of KVS. The Programme began exactly at 8.30 a.m.
Students of K.V.Khanapara enlivened the programme with various colourful cultural items including a fashion parade. Students also put up different food stalls selling delicious delicacies and numerous others stalls selling hand and craft items, fun games stalls, music stalls. By the end of the day, it turned out into an overwhelming experience.
Report on Youth Festival-2009
Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara celebrated the Regional level ‘Youth Festival’ under Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) with great pomp and show on 10th Dec'09. The festival was attended by 9 schools of Guwahati Region along with Principals, teachers and 144 students.
The inaugural programme commenced with the felicitation of the chief guest – hon'ble Sri A. K. Vajpayee, Assistant Commissioner, KVS (GR), Dr. Jaideep Das, Education Officer, KVS (GR), Sri Niloy Basu, Observer UNPE and other distinguished guests. Then the ceremonial lamp was lighted by the chief guest to mark the formal inauguration of the festival. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jaideep Das, E.O. KVS (GR) highlighted the aims of A.E.P. and its importance to address the felt needs of the youths. This was followed by the blessing by the chief guest, Sri A. K. Vajpayee, Assistant Commissioner, KVS (GR), who also declared the fest open. Then the guests were entertained by a short cultural programme presented by a few students of the venue school.
The day long programme involved all the students in various competitions like Role play, Poster/cartoon, Debate, Story/Essay writing all of which focussed on healthy living, HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, Importance of Self Esteem and handling Peer Pressure. Colourful stalls were put up which displayed exhibits of NAEP activities conducted in the respective schools.
The festival served a wonderful platform for sharing, learning and identifying best practices followed in different schools in order to get an insight into the perspectives, opinions, ideas, hopes and aspirations of adolescents across the country.
Judges and experts gave valuable judgement and declared the winners of the various events. The programme concluded with the valedictory function followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony
Talent Hunt
Competition 'SCHOOLWIZ'
Pride East Entertainment Pvt.Ltd organised a Talent Hunt
Competition called 'SCHOOLWIZ' among the 80 schools in and around guwahati. It
aimed at generating a healthy competition among the school children in the
region. The programme showned the talents of students in different fields
viz.Art,Music,Dance ,Sports , Gymnastics etc.
Around 75 students of K.V.Khanapara
participated in this Talent Hunt & achieved the first position in the
preliminary round. The semi-final round stated on the 15th of Dec'09.All the 10
items were appreciated by the judges and audience. The judges said that the
programme of K.V.K. reflected the entire panaroma of different Indian culture
and was flawless. Peace and Harmony was the theme of K.V.K.
GRAMMAR WORKSHOP
A 3 day Workshop on “Bringing Grammar to Life in the Upper Primary Class room” was organized by KVS at K.V. Khanapara from 20th Oct to 22nd Oct’09 for Primary and TGTs of Guwahati region. The main focus of the workshop was to equip the language teacher with various fun activities to make grammar classes fun-filled, lively and interactive in the Upper Primary Class room. The Workshop further gave an opportunity to teacher to develop their expertise and upgrade their teaching skills. All the sessions included a lot of grammar activities which could be productive and enjoyable in class room situations
Report on UNO Millennium Development Goal Programme

The
Stand Up, Take Action UNO Millennium Development Goal programme was conducted
today the 13th october,2009 at 8:00 a.m in KV Khanapara Guwahati,
Assam. Two thousand four hundred students along with 80 staff members took the
pledge which was lead by the Principal of the Vidyalaya Smt. Anjana Hazarika.
The world leaders sat with the UNO at its head quarters in Newyork in 2000 in a
summit and had adopted 8 millennium goals which they had under taken to realize
by 2015. Among these goals the three most important are MDG-Eradicating Poverty
and Hunger, Universalizing Primary Education and Sustaining the environment. The
purpose of these campaigns throughout the world are to make the Leaders
and Governments aware of their commitments to speed up and fulfill their goals.
With this objective Art of Living encourages these programmes all over the
world. In
the Take Action programme each student committed and contributed one rupee coin
to support and help the poor. One of the senior most staff member Shri S.K.
Choudhury beautifully elaborated the significance of this campaign inspiring the
students to participate whole heartedly. The Principal of the Vidyalaya also
expressed her delight and reiterated the significance of participating in such
campaigns which create awareness among the student community about the various
issues of the country and encourage them to take conscious and genuine efforts
to fulfill such goals

TEACHERS DAY-2009
Teachers day
was celebrated as a day long programme on 5th September 2009.
Students celebrated the day by garlanding the photograph of Dr.S. Radhakrishnan
and the by acting as teachers. Cultural programme and festivity marked the
celebration.
HORNBY SEMINAR
BRINGING GRAMMAR TO LIFE IN THE UPPER PRIMARY CLASSROOM
Two teachers from K.V.Khanapara were sponsored by KVS to attend the Hornby Seminar at Bhubaneswar from 24th-28th Aug'2009.
The Hornby ELT seminar 2009 was organized by the British Council. India with the support of the A.S. Hornby Trust. The main focus of the seminar was to make grammar lessons lively in the Upper Primary classroom and to enable teachers to develop their expertise and upgrade their teaching skills. Bearing in mind the age and standard of students, grammar which is otherwise considered dull and rigid, was brought to life through various fun-filled innovative and motivating activities.
As a follow up programme the teachers will now cascade the workshop to the teachers of Guwahati Region scheduled for
NATIONAL ADOLESCENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME (NAEP)
Three Day Master Trainers Programme on NAEP was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara, Guwahati from 20th Aug'09 to 22nd Aug'09.Shri A.K. Vajpayee, Assistant Commissioner KVS(GR) inaugurated the occasion. 37 Participants from Silchar and Guwahati Region participated in it. The objective of the programme was to create awareness and deal carefully with the children of the adolescent stage. Issues like-'Development of life skills', 'Solstice abuse' , HIV/AIDS, RTIs /STIs their prevention, positive stroke to create a zone of happiness etc. were discussed. The programme was made lively and entertaining through skits and role plays enacted by the participants.
INTERNATIONAL VENTURE
Master Shuvam Roy Choudhury of class IX has been selected by British Council under DREAMS+TEAMS project to visit cardriff, UK from 31st Aug'09 to 9th Sept'09 to be a part of the UK School Games.
Master Debojyoti Das Choudhury of class XII A1 has been selected for the JENESYS Programme held in Japan from 12th May'09 to 21st May'09 to participate in student exchange programme.
